The hidden land

In a place far away, there was a little world hidden and unseen by all humans. Here all horses lived freely. The horses were as happy as horses could be. They lived under the command of Spirit and free pinto.

 

In the beginning of the foaling season, the lead horses headed up to Cloud Mountain to see Spirit. They came with their foals.

 

“Welcome,” Spirit said. Then when he saw the foals tears sprang in his eyes. Foaling seasons where very hard for him. Beauty an Arabian Pegasus flapped her wings gently and looked him in the eye.

 

You see not long ago, Spirit had his own family. He had a beautiful palomonie mate. They had many foals. Even horses did not know the land then, and they hoped that their foals would lead the land themselves.

 

Then one day his wife and foals caught an unknown disease. It killed the foals straight away. Then Spirit worked hard trying to find a cure for his mate. Then when he did, it was too late. He has accepted the fact that it wasn’t his fault

 

After the meeting they all went back to the land. Then there was a newcomer.  She was a misting black and her eyes sparkled the way his mates’, Beth did.

 

Spirit wanted to know this mare’s name. He went to ask Onerous and Gaia

 

“Who is the newcomer?” He asked

 

Gaia replied, “That is Angel”

 

“Right” he said

 

He was about to talk to her when Moon came up to him a said, “The wolves, they are going to attack.”

 

“What?”

 

“They sent a warning saying that they were going to do whatever it takes to get the land”

 

Spirit didn’t know what do. The wolves always wanted the land.

 

“Warn the great leaders, Snow, Fire, Beauty, all of them we need them to get to get all horses inside and hide them.”

 

“On it” moon replied

 

The horses panicked and ran into the caves. People didn’t notice missing horses until a horses shouted, “Where is my baby!”

 

The horses looked around and noticed that other foals and horses where missing. And then they heard a hollow laugh.

 

The horses looked around nervously. There, right in front of them, was the wolf pack. Spirit snorted and then noticed that Angel was one of the horses, struggling to get away.

 

“Give us the land and none one gets hurt.” The alpha said

 

“Never” Spirit replied

 

“Fine” The Alpha said “Wolves attack”

 

Then they started to snap, buck and attack each other. When they finally pinned down the alpha they made a treaty. That they would stay on each others’ land and never attack each other again. The alpha gave him one sour look and then headed back to wolf land.

 

When they headed to the main land Spirit said to Angel, “I like you Angel. Do you like me back?”

 

Angel stared at him.

 

“Yes” she replied. “I grew up with you remember.”

 

“Are you Lola?”

 

“Yes except I changed my name to Angel. I didn’t want to leave but I had to.”

 

Spirit smiled as the headed up to Cloud Mountain in the sunset.
